ANZAC Bridge - Sydney

Opening Day Walk

The bridge was opened on Sunday 3rd December 1995 with the Premier Bob Carr ceremonially cutting the ribbon using the same scissors used by Jack Lang to officially open the Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1932. 5a.

A Community Walk followed. Proceeds from ticket sales for the walk went to the Smith Family. The Smith Family provides help and relief to children and families in crisis and financial difficulties.

On a beautiful summer morning about 65,000 people walked across the new bridge.
